Woman, 26, found murdered, with neck injury, in Brooklyn home: NYPD

A 26-year-old woman who had been murdered was found in her Brooklyn home after someone called in a wellness check, police said on Friday.

Officers responding to a 911 call for a welfare check around 9 p.m. Thursday discovered the woman unconscious and unresponsive with an injury to her neck in her home on New York Ave. near E. 33rd St. in Midwood, cops said.

EMS pronounced the woman dead at the scene. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has declared her death a homicide.

According to a police source, the woman’s 32-year-old boyfriend informed police in Buffalo, NY, that his girlfriend was dead at that address. Cops in Buffalo then alerted the NYPD, whose officers found the woman lying on her back unconscious in the basement, the source said.

The NYPD could not immediately confirm those details or say if anyone has been taken into custody.

The woman’s identity is being withheld pending notification of her family first. Police are investigating.
