A 68-year-old woman was repeatedly punched and knocked to the ground as she tried to pull into a parking spot in Brooklyn, cops said Saturday.
The victim was just about to park outside the Food Bazaar Supermarket on Manhattan Ave. near Moore St. in East Williamsburg when a man and a woman rolled up behind her in a green sedan around 7:40 p.m. on Aug. 13.
The woman tried to wave the couple on, indicating she was about to pull into the spot, when the man got out of his car, approached her driver-side window and began arguing with her, she told police.
As the altercation continued, the victim got out of her car, cops said. That’s when the other woman stormed up and began punching her in the face, knocking her onto the asphalt in the parking lot.
The couple jumped back into their car and sped off. They were last seen heading east on Varet St., cops said.
EMS rushed the woman to Woodhull Hospital, where she was treated for minor injuries.
Cops recovered surveillance footage of the couple and put out the images in the hopes that someone recognizes them.
The female suspect was last seen wearing a gray shirt, gray pants, black jacket and white sneakers. The man she was with was wearing a white tank top, black pants and a black head wrap.
The incident comes as felony assaults in the Williamsburg area, which is protected by the 90th Precinct, has seen an 8% drop in assaults, from 195 to 178, according to the NYPD.
Felony assault numbers are down citywide, but only by 1% — from 18,814 this time last year to 18,603.
