A 68-year-old woman crossing a Brooklyn street was fatally struck by a Mercedes driver, police said Thursday.
Maurette Lafleur was in the crosswalk of Rutland Road at E. 94th St. in East Flatbush when the driver of the 2025 Mercedes-Benz slammed into her about 6 p.m. Wednesday, cops said.
Medics rushed Lafleur to Kings County Hospital but she could not be saved. Lafleur was about two miles from home when she was struck, according to cops.
Police determined that the 64-year-old driver was heading north on E. 95th St. and had just turned left onto Rutland Road when she struck Lafleur.
The driver remained at the scene and faced no immediate charges.
