A 72-year-old woman was found dead and partially undressed — with some of her clothes folded neatly beside her — near the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, law enforcement sources told the Daily News Wednesday.
Lydia Marzan’s lifeless body was found at 6:49 a.m. Tuesday on a sidewalk near East Fordham Road and Southern Blvd. in Belmont, roughly two blocks away from the botanical garden’s main entrance, cops said.
The victim had a laceration on one hand and an abrasion above her eye, and was found wearing only a shirt, underwear and socks, sources said.
Some clothes were folded neatly on the sidewalk beside her, according to sources.
Temperatures dipped well below freezing in the city Tuesday morning, reaching a low of 24 degrees Fahrenheit, according to the National Weather Service.
Marzan lived on Walton Ave. near E. 182nd St. in Fordham Heights, cops said.
The city’s medical examiner will determine Marzan’s cause of death.
