A 74-year-old woman was found dead with multiple injuries inside her lower Manhattan apartment, police said Saturday.
The grisly discovery was made just before 8 p.m. Friday inside a Monroe St. building near Market St., just a block from the Manhattan Bridge.
Cops were called to the scene after someone discovered the woman unconscious in her apartment and called 911.
The woman had multiple injuries to both her head and body and died at the scene.
Cops have not disclosed the woman’s name as they track down her relatives.
An autopsy has been scheduled to determine how she died.
More than 40 evidence bags were seen being removed from the building as cops continued their investigation late into the night, according to preliminary reports.
No arrests have been made.
