Woman killed in Bronx crash was speeding, spun out of control

The 29-year-old woman killed in a blistering Bronx crash was driving at an unsafe speed and had spun out of control before slamming into two trucks, police said Saturday.

Angie Miguel was behind the wheel of the white 2016 Infiniti sedan at around 4:30 a.m. Friday when she failed to navigate a curve on the eastbound side of the Bruckner Expressway near Whittier St. in the Soundview section of the Bronx.

Two large trucks, including a tractor-trailer, were heading in the same direction and slowing down for a red light as Miguel lost control of the wheel and began spinning toward them.

The Infiniti rotated to the right until its driver’s side crashed into the rear of one of the two trucks, which rear-ended the truck in front of it, cops said.

A 26-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were in the Infiniti with Miguel when the crash occurred.

First responders rushed all three Infiniti occupants and the male drivers of the two trucks — ages 26 and 29 — to Lincoln Hospital where Miguel died.

The other four victims were treated at the hospital and are expected to survive.

Miguel lived in New Haven, Conn., about 70 miles from the fatal crash.

She was traveling at a high rate of speed when that section of Bruckner Blvd. curves to the right as it goes over the Bronx River, officials said.

No arrests have been made.
