A work train operating on the No. 1 line struck a portion of the Broadway Bridge during track repair work Wednesday, sending two transit workers to the hospital with minor injuries.
The train was operating on the downtown track south of the Marble Hill-225th St. No. 1 station when the boom of a crane on one of the cars struck the bridge structure around 12:30 p.m., sources told The Daily News.
The crane operator and the train operator were taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries, according to the FDNY and transit sources.
The train was part of a work crew conducting scheduled track maintenance along the elevated section of the No. 1 line north of Dyckman St. MTA told The News the incident is under review.
The incident did not affect service on the No. 1 train, which was scheduled to bypass the track work on its way between Van Cortlandt Park and Dyckman St.
