Wynonna Judd’s daughter has made some shocking allegations against her former stepdad and estranged mother.
Grace Kelley, 29, who has been in and out of jail, addressed her childhood in a rare interview with The Daily Progress, in which she claimed her ex-stepfather, D. R. Roach, molested her when she was just 10 years old.
She also claimed that Judd was complicit in covering up the alleged abuse, reportedly taking the family to counseling to try to smooth things over.
Judd, 61, was married to Roach from 2003 until his arrest in 2007, when he was taken into custody in Texas and charged with sexual battery against a minor.
His victim’s identity was never made public; however, the country star filed for divorce days after his arrest.
According to Kelley, her mom kept the alleged sexual abuse under wraps until it was exposed during a counseling session.
“When they found out in counseling what he had done to me, they’re like, ‘Wait a minute. We’re going to report this to law enforcement,’” Judd’s only daughter recalled. “When he was arrested and it came out in the news, that’s when she divorced him.”
Kelley then slammed her mother and their relationship.
“So is my mom rich? Yeah, she’s so rich that she was able to sweep me under the rug and abuse me and then cover it all up,” she told the outlet. “I don’t want to talk bad about my mom, but we’ll just say she’s a good performer. She was never a mother.”
The Post reached out to Judd’s rep for comment, but did not immediately hear back.
“My story is so messed up,” Kelley said in the interview, claiming that between the ages of 12 and 17, she “was in 14 different facilities.”
She admitted that her life hasn’t been easy, despite her family’s status. Kelley’s aunt is actress Ashley Judd, and her grandma was the late singer Naomi Judd, who took her own life in 2022.
While Kelley turned to drugs to cope in the past, she said she’s now sober, religious and working on a memoir.
“I believe that now’s my time,” she stated. “I never had a voice, and I was iffy about talking about all this stuff, but no matter what is said about me, the Bible says the truth will set you free.”
As for her ex-stepfather, Roach pleaded guilty to attempt to commit aggravated sexual battery and is listed as an offender against children in the Tennessee sex offender registry.
In 2010, Judd opened up about his arrest to Oprah Winfrey.
“He was out of the house within the hour. I called him everything I could think of. I had a moment where I let it all fly, and then it was done. I trusted him with my life, and I didn’t want to stop trusting [people],” she said at the time.
“Because of the child, I won’t speak about it. It’s their story [to tell] when they’re ready to talk. That’s what’s so scary, is that it is someone that you know. There’s a trust there. There’s a bond… The best revenge is living well. I cleaned out my house, got rid of everything that reminded me of him,” she added.
Decades later, Judd revealed she was sexually abused as a child.
“I was molested at 12, so my whole sexuality thing was really stamped out because I just, at 12, shut down. I carried the weight, both literally and figuratively,” the singer shared in the documentary “The Judd Family: Truth Be Told,” which aired in May.
Judd has been raising Kelley’s three-year-old child, Kaliyah, following her daughter’s several arrests, which included being charged with soliciting prostitution in April 2024.
