As the Yankees bashed the Brewers on Saturday, one Bomber caused more harm than any other.
That would be Aaron Judge, who clubbed three home runs against Milwaukee in the second game of the season. The first came in the opening inning against former teammate Nestor Cortes, who allowed three home runs on his first three pitches of the game.
Cody Bellinger and Paul Goldschmidt went deep before Judge.
However, the Yankees’ captain added a grand slam off Connor Thomas in the third inning. The shot to left earned Judge MVP chants — he won the award for the second time last season — and a curtain call.
He followed up by taking Thomas over the center field fence for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. It was the Yankees’ eighth longball of the day.
Saturday marked the third three-homer game of Judge’s career. The slugger achieved the feat twice in 2023, hitting three dingers against the Nationals on Aug. 23 and against the Diamondbacks on Sept. 22.
Lou Gehrig is the only player in franchise history with four homers in a game. He recorded that rare feat in 1932.
