A young man who used to post TikTok videos of his high-speed racing has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for driving a $100,000 BMW at 151 mph into the back of an SUV in 2022, killing all six passengers.
Noah Galle, who was 17 when he smashed into the rear of a Nissan Rogue SUV carrying Florida farm workers, reached a plea deal to avoid trial, pleading guilty Monday to six counts of vehicular homicide, dodging a potential 55-year-minimum prison sentence, The Palm Beach Post reported.
Under the deal, the son of a prominent Wellington, Fla., lawyer will serve 12 years and 180 days in prison, plus seven years’ probation. He will also have to do community service, attend a victim-impact panel, forfeit his driver’s license for three years, make a video on safe driving, and take a 12-hour driving course.
Galle had made a schtick out of posting TikTok videos of racing down highways and offering to pay $25 to anyone guessing his speed. Around 11 p.m. on Jan. 27, 2022, the high-speed antics killed workers on their way home from Pero Family Farms. They were identified as driver Mirlane Julceus, 45, of West Palm Beach, and passengers Michel Louis Saint, 77, of Lake Worth Beach; Marie Michelle Louis, 60, of Wellington; Remzie Michel, 53, of Palm Springs; Filaine Dieu, 46, of Lake Worth Beach, and Vanice Percina, 29, of West Palm Beach.
The victims’ families, who didn’t attend Monday’s hearing, issued a statement read by Chief Assistant State Attorney Alan Johnson.
“The victims’ families have written to us that they did not object to this plea,” Johnson said, according to WPTV-TV. “Some of them didn’t even want him to go to jail at all. One wanted us to drop the case entirely. What is the proper sentence in the case like this? No amount of prison time will bring the victims back to their families. We feel this is an appropriate resolution. This case is a tragedy.”
