Young man dies in Brooklyn double shooting blocks from home

A 20-year-old man died from a shooting in broad daylight around the corner from his home — and another 20-year-old male is in the hospital — after bullets flew in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon, police said.

Darius Coles was fatally blasted in the chest near Sutter Ave. and Euclid Ave. in East New York about 2:40 p.m.— around the corner from his home about three blocks away, cops said. The other 20-year-old shooting victim was hit in the leg and grazed by a bullet on the head but survived, according to police. His identity was not released.

EMS rushed both men to Brookdale University Hospital, where hospital staff pronounced Coles dead. The second victim is in stable condition, according to police.

Police are investigating; there were no immediate arrests, cops said.
