Youths move parked G subway train, accidentally connect it to another train

A group of young trespassers broke into a Brooklyn train yard Wednesday and moved a parked subway train, accidentally connecting it with another parked train, the Daily News has learned.

Multiple transit sources tell The News that the unidentified intruders broke into the underground Church Ave. Yard in Kensington around 3 p.m. and took control of a parked G train made up of open-gangway R211T cars.

The train moved backwards, tapping another parked G train of standard R211 cars, a source told The News. MTA officials confirmed that the train coupled to the second set of cars upon colliding.

The trespassers fled the train yard through an emergency exit. A transit worker on the scene reported no injuries or damage to the two trains.

An MTA spokesman confirmed that the hijacked set of G train cars was sent to the Coney Island Yard on Wednesday night to be inspected and decoupled.

The trains were cleared for service and put back into operation.
