LOS ANGELES — Lil Nas X left jail in a thin prison smock Monday after posting $75,000 bail on charges related to his alleged assault on cops during a nearly naked romp through the streets last week.
The “Old Town Road” singer, whose legal name is Montrel Hill, walked in stoney silence to a waiting white Jeep Ribicon following a court appearance where he pleaded not guilty to four felony charges.
Hill was arrested early Thursday when he was spotted roaming Ventura Boulevard in nothing but white briefs and matching cowboy boots; he allegedly attacked officers before they brought him in.
The 26-year-old Grammy winner was taken to a hospital for possible drug overdose and then booked in county lockup later that morning. Prosecutors charged him with four felonies, including battery against a police officer.

At his Monday arraignment, Hill’s lawyer Christy O’Connor insisted he had no history of drug use, was a model citizen, and the Thursday episode was an “aberration.”
Hill himself only spoke briefly during his appearance, replying “yes,” when Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Martin Herscovitz asked if Hill would agree to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
“The police report said he was sent to the hospital as a possible overdose,” Herscovitz said.
“That is correct, but we don’t know if that was actually accurate or just some officer’s hunch that was corroborated,” O’Connor answered. “We don’t know what happened.”
