Insane number of Americans would sacrifice sex — and their pets — to play ‘GTA VI’ early

Don’t hate the players, hate the game.

A shocking number of Americans would give up sex, and even their pets, for the chance to play the highly anticipated video game “Grand Theft Auto VI” early, a new survey found.

Over 20% of American gamers are willing to go without doing it for a month while another almost 10% said they’d abandon their furry friends in exchange for being able to play “Grand Theft Auto VI” a week in advance, a survey of over 1,300 fans from Unwind Media found.

“One in five sexually active fans would give up sex for a month to play one week early,” the study said.

For fans who already pre-ordered the game — the share of American gamers willing to give up sex sprang up even higher to 32%, while the share of gaming pet owners who would give up their animal-children nearly doubled to 13%, the survey found.

Female fans are even more willing to make that trade, with a quarter of all women gamers saying they’d give up sex to play early compared with just 19% of male fans, according to the survey.

Surprisingly, phones were harder for gamers to part with than sex, as only 16% of fans would be willing to give up their phone outside of work for a month in exchange for playing the game early.

Gamers, however, were much more willing to trade other vices, with 53% saying they’d give up alcohol while 43% said they’d quit smoking for a month for the chance to play the game early.

Over 30% said they’d trade coffee or streaming services, while just over 40% said they’d trade fast food or social media for the game early.

GTA VI is already projected to cost the US economy over $1 billion dollars in lost productivity on launch day this month, with over 1.5 million workers expected to skip work in order to play, The Post previously reported.

The survey found that more than 51% of adult, working gamers plan to take time off to play the game, with one-in-four planning to take two or more days off for the game.
